Qatar Airways flight QR240 was forced to make an emergency landing at Istanbul’s Ataturk Airport.
An airport official was quoted by Reuters as saying that a landing gear failed to retract.
It was also reported that an engine fire was to blame; a flame on one of the plane’s wings can be seen in this video.
The official quoted by Reuters did not confirm it was an engine fire.
The airline released a statement on Facebook, saying the flight, which was en route from Istanbul to Doha, landed safely, and all passengers had disembarked as normal.
