Sri Lanka Government has sought to increase fuel prices effective midnight.
New prices will be as follows:
- Petrol 92 – Rs 117 to Rs 137,
- Petrol 95- Rs 128 to Rs 148,
- Diesel- Rs 95 to Rs 109,
- Super Diesel – Rs 110 to Rs 119,
- Kerosine Rs 44 to Rs 101 (Samurdi & Fisheries sector will get kerosine at the old price)
Minister of Science, Technology, and Research, Dr. Sarath Amunugama said “A situation has arisen where the fuel prices will definitely have to be increased.”
Dr. Amunugama said the decision will be reached after taking the global oil prices into account.
The Minister made the announcement a short while ago during a media briefing at the Government Information Department.
