Sri Lankan news web portal Sri Lanka Mirror revealed an alleged audio tape of a secret telephone conversation between the slain ‘Sunday Leader’ editor Lasantha Wickrematunge and ex-president Mahinda Rajapaksa.
Their conversation indicates that they had been very close friends. However, Rajapaksa was the president when Lasantha was murdered on 08 January 2009.
