Ex Sri Lanka cricket captain Mahela Jayawardene rejected a request from Sri Lanka Cricket CEO, Ashley De Silva to obtain services of former cricket legends to serve in a committee on consultancy basis to advice SLC on matters related to cricketing areas.
Mr Ashley had written to Sri lankan Sports Minister Faiszer Musthapha requesting former legends to join the committee.
The former legends named along with Mahela Jayawardene were Kumar Sangakara, Aravinda De Silva and Roshan Mahanama. Spin legend Muthiah Muralidaran was also requested to join as bowling coach.
