Widespread issues with Gmail are being reported by users for the past couple of hours. Issues have been noticed in many of the G Suite services, most particularly Gmail.
The issues, also being seen in the case of Google Drive, are of an intermittent nature. Users are generally able to access Google Drive, Gmail and hangout, but are encountering what IT support staff calls “high latency, and/or other unexpected behaviours
Google said that it was aware its users were having problems and was working to understand the cause of the outage.
Not all of the services are entirely broken. Some users are able to load Gmail as normal, for instance – and others can access their messages, but are unable to send them.
The issues were first reported this morning and are believed to also be affecting Google Drive and Slack.
The app is also not working for some users with complaints starting to flood in about 5.30am.
Thousands of tweets about the problems have been posted as people returned to their desks this morning, with problems sending emails, attaching files and error messages being received.
