Job Description

Job Purpose:

To support the IT infrastructure installations and provide daily services for the Exchange’s data center in compliance with established standards and specifications.

Key Accountabilities:

Daily Operations:
•Follow daily operations relating to their own job to ensure work continuity.
•Contribute to preparing timely and accurate reports that concern the Department’s line of work to meet the requirements, objectives, and standards of the Exchange and the department.
•Ensure the satisfaction of both internal and external customers by addressing their needs in a courteous and timely manner.
Operations Support:
•Coordinate with the IT infrastructure team and assist in planning and determining data storage capacity for the assigned data center in order to facilitate optimal performance for the database and applications.
•Assist in appropriate hardware selection in order to support Data Centre Operations.
•Carry out cabling, cooling, and flooring activities to facilitate effective IT infrastructure installation, management, and IT operations support.
•Assist in conducting data center access control and site management in accordance with established procedures to ensure smooth operations.
•Analyze errors in operating systems, applications, databases, and networks in order to maintain maximum system availability and readiness.
•Inform end users with the progress in their IT issues in order to ensure customer satisfaction.
•Troubleshoot minor problems that arise in operating systems, networks, databases, and applications, and escalate more complex issues to superiors in order to ensure corrective action and measures.
•Assist in compiling and presenting statistics and reports on the performance of current data networks, operating systems, and applications to support decision making purposes.
•Assist and preparing data center statements and reports in a timely and accurate manner in order to meet the Exchange’s requirements, policies, and standards.
Governance and Resilience:
•Follow all relevant policies, procedures, and processes in order for the work to be carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
•Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of processes and practices, work processes, cost effectiveness, and productivity enhancement.
•Promote to other employees within the organization the implementation and adherence to policies, procedures, processes, and instructions.

Education, Qualification and Experience:

A bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent is required.
A diploma, certificate course in CDCTP (Certified Data Centre Technician Professional) or equivalent is preferred.
1 to 3 years of experience in IT data center management, data processing, and system operations is required.
