Sri Lanka won the toss and chose to bowl first in the Men’s T20 World Cup opener in Geelong, likely owing to their preference to chase scores. Namibia captain Gerhard Erasmus said he would have liked to chase as well.
Sri Lanka suffered a significant blow this weekend, when left-arm quick Dilshan Madushanka ruled out of the tournament with a quadriceps injury. Binura Fernando is named as the replacement. In his place in the XI, Sri Lanka have Pramod Madushan, who made his debut late in their Asia Cup campaign.
